Methods of Aircraft Fire control
1-Detection.
2-Containment.
3-Rapid extinguish.

To control Fire we need:-
1-Detection system
2-Extinguishing system
Possible locations of fire:-
1-Engine
2-APU
3-Avionics compartment
4-Cargo compartment
5-Lavatories

Methods of detecting excessive heat on aircraft :-
1-Overheat detectors.
2-Rate of temperature rise detectors.
3-Flame detectors.
4-Smoke detectors.
5-Observation by crew members.

THE IDEAL DETECTION SYSTEM:-
1-Does not cause false warning
2-Rapid indication and accurate fire location.
3-Accurate indication that a fire is out.
4-Indication that a fire has re-ignited.
5-Continuous indication for duration of a fire.
6-Means for electrically testing the detector system from the cockpit.
7-resist damage from exposure to oil, water, vibration, extreme temperatures, or handling.
8-light in weight and easily adaptable to any mounting position.
9-operates directly from the aircraft power system without inverters.
10-require Minimum electrical current when not indicating a fire.
11-Each detector system has audible alarm system and cockpit lights indicating the location of the fire.
A separate detector system for each engine.
Note: False warning: due to short circuit comes from vibration, chafing or moisture.
