Early this morning Scoot Boeing 787-9 landed at Taipei with a missing Nose landing gear left wheel. The aircraft was operating Seoul (ICN) to Taipei (TPE)

Missing wheel and tyre is possibly in South China Sea

According to sources, the tyre pressure level had been detected as abnormal before the flight’s descent. After landing, the left nose wheel was missing, and the axle also appeared to be worn.

Scoot Taiwan General Manager Victor Lee (李育修) did not deny the allegations when questioned by CNA about the incident.

Lee said Scoot had decided to dispatch another airplane to Taiwan and that more information would be available later.

It’s unclear where the missing wheel dropped. Taoyuan International Airport Corp. said no signs of the wheel were found on the runway or taxiway.
